We designed and made earthquake proof structures using cocktail sticks and marshmallows! The children had to work in teams to create a structure that could withstand the tremors from our simulator.

We developed our clay modelling skills by creating volcanoes! We moulded the clay into a volcano shape and then used a clay tool to create the main vent. We then painted them and practised mixing paint to create lava!

We explored the earth's layers using a hard boiled egg. The children had to break the egg into it's three components and explain what each layer represented in relation to the earth. We had lots of fun doing this and it really helped us to understand the earth's layers.
