Welcome to a new half term in Year 1 !
During the coming 6 weeks your children will be going on learning adventure through Space!
We are looking forward to delving into space fiction books, looking at the features and details in order to create our own Space Fiction writing. We will also be creating space poetry and performing these in our class.
In Art and Design Technology we will be getting creative, planning and making our own rockets, space art and planets.
We will develop our research skills as scientists to learn more about different materials and their properties alongside explore the planets in our solar system.
Finally, we will be using lots of non fiction texts to explore significant figures in space history and about the amazing things we can now do in space! We will look at how brilliant astronauts are and reflecting on our own aspirations and goals.
We really look forward to all of these exciting activities over this term and encourage the learning to continue outside of school, please check inside your child's reading record to see some of the home learning activities suggested.
